Hi and Welcome to Oil Mama RN! My name is Amanda Hart and I have been an oil lover for about seven years now. I first got started on essential oils when my youngest son was just about a year old. From about four months old, he suffered from frequent respiratory illnesses. We tried many over the counter medications but nothing seemed to help him. We lived at the pediatrician, urgent care and ER, and we even had some hospital admissions including ICU stays. As a mom, it was very hard and frustrating to continue to watch my baby sick all the time. Neither one of us was sleeping and my stress level was through the roof. I knew I needed something more but when a friend of mine offered me an oil sample, I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't sold right away. I let that sample sit there for a good month, until my son got sick again and I was desperate to try anything that could potentially help him. After one night of using that sample, I could already see a huge difference. I continued to use that sample until my son was better and I was hooked at that point. I have been an oil love ever since!

Now being a Registered Nurse, I also believe that Western Medicine is needed at times. But what I LOVE most about these oils is that I can easily turn to them first, especially in the middle of the night, and if we need more support, then we make a doctor's appointment at that time. I can honestly say first hand, the amount of doctor visits we have needed has dropped more then 75% since using these oils. My son has avoided urgent cares, ER's and more importantly, hospital admissions and I have these oils to thank for that.

As a mama of two and a nurse, I have a huge passion for empowering others to take control of their health and wellness. As a mama I have seen first hand the power these essential oils can have when it comes to the health of my children. However, as a nurse, I also understand how important Western Medicine is. While I don't dismiss Western Medicine completely, I do turn to these tools first.
